there is no program on my system that i could find called SNinstaller. My problem is i cant figure out where this is running from. delete the key again to verify and it does it again. to my dismay the startup monitor pops up again right away with the same message. i went into the registry and deleted this key from the run services once under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. meaning the installer is trying to reinstall Norton Security Scan. i am running startup monitor and it tells me that the NSinstaller is trying to register the program nssstub.exe for startup. only now there is nothing to install (error on every boot). I start the hunt and delete registry (run/runonce) entries, and found and deleted the nssstub.exe (install program) and its directory. thought maybe i missed something so tried 2 more times (3 total). used it and still it comes back after reboot. so i went and downloaded the removal tool from the Norton website. I uninstalled it using the usual add/remove programs and it just reinstalled itself on reboot (malicious). well i missed the part where it asked if you want to install Norton Security Scan (clicked through) and i just caught a glimps of it but it was too late! installed! I installed Adobe fireworks and while installing i was not paying attention (i know, i know).
